Most residential or commercial foundations are strong enough to support BendPak lifts. However, it is important to adhere to concrete specifications. Failure to do so could cause lift failure resulting in personal injury or death. A level floor is suggested for proper installation and level lifting. With proper shimming, small differences in floor slopes may be compensated for. If a floor is of questionable slope, consider a survey of the site and / or the possibility of pouring a new level concrete slab.Be sure to check your floor for the possibility of it being a post tension slab. In this case, contact the building architect before drilling. Visually inspect the site where the lift is to be installed and verify the concrete is in good condition. If your concrete has cracks or other defects, please consult with a certified contractor before proceeding to install any BendPak lift. Lift owners and end users are responsible for the safe installation of their lift. Please see our concrete specification chart, this should not be construed as actual requirements for your building, facility or application. Because local and statewide building codes may change and / or vary, always check with the building architect before installation for additional guidance on UBC compliance requirements. In no event shall BendPak Inc. or Babco be liable for special, consequential or incidental damages for the misinterpretation of this information. BendPak Inc. and Babco reserve the right to make changes to this document without incurring any obligation to notify the public that changes were made.

You Lift may be too far away from the power source causing a voltage drop when it gets too the motor/pump. Low voltage causes a higher draw thus tripping the breaker. Your circuit breaker is old and no longer will change the amps it is rated for.
3 degrees is the maximum recommended
Yes. For most slopes greater than 3 deg , you can purchase different shim plates to help level out the lift . This is a case by case situation.

The American Lift Institute is a 3rd party that certifies The safety standard covering the design, construction and performance of car lifts in North America. Testing includes verification of the structural integrity of all the lift’s systems and components, proper function of its controls and load-holding devices, proper lowering speeds, and overload protection. Part of the testing process involves overloading the lift (which should never be done outside a laboratory setting) and ensuring that no visual deformation of any of its structural elements or components occurs. Having an ALI certified lift gives you peace of mind that the rating stated on the lift are true and tested and provide the optimal level of safety to anybody working under an ALI certified lift.
We check the anchors, the welds, the cables and their condition and the hydraulics. We lube the lift and will let you know if we notice any wear and tear that should be taken care of. Basically, we ensure your lift is operating as it should, and look out for warning signs of future problems fixing them before they become an issue.
The minimum ceiling height required is dependant on the lift chosen and is in the specs on our website. your salesperson can look into this and give you the exact requirements of your specific lift if required.
The main difference is Brand and certification. Bendpak is considered the gold standard with ALI certification. On most four post lifts, Bendpak has adjustable runways. Bendpak requires air to disengage the locks while Peak does not. BendPak is designed more as a commercial high use lift while the Peak is more of a occasional home use hobby lift. Both are high quality but the BendPak is a more robust unit built for more intense use.
A simple monthly checklist is perhaps the most you'll do on a regular basis, aside from common-sense visual inspections you'll do every time you lift and lower your vehicles. Cables need to be maintained, as do hydraulic systems. Because BendPak sells in such high volume, replacement parts (and therefore the cost of owning a BendPak car lift) are much less than the cost of owning other brands' lifts. Learn more about car lift maintenance and cable inspections.
Typically lifts need lubrication and adjustments to keep it running smoothly. Hydraulic fluid should be changed annually to avoid abnormal wear.

The structure is manufactured overseas and all electronic components such as control box and motors are made in North America.
The answer will differ depending on the lift model and manufacturer. Bendpak lifts for example are designed and engineered in the US but manufactured overseas, same for Peak's lift also manufactured overseas. Omer's lift are designed, engineered and manufactured in Italy. Feel free to ask your sales representative if you spotted a specific model.
Both Bendpak and Peak manufacture their own lifts overseas. These are not re-branded lifts made in anonymous factories, but quality products built in their own factories to their own specifications. We are proud of the brands that we represent and can stand behind their quality with confidence.
The safety locks allow the lift to rest on a mechanical stop without strain on the cables and cylinders. This increases safety for the operator and reduces wear on the lift.

Two-Post Lift FAQ

All cars and light trucks have approved lifting points that are specified by the vehicle manufacturer. It is critical that your vehicle is positioned properly relative to the centre line of the lift and centred between the columns. Cars that are front wheel drive and can be lifted asymmetrically. This allows the car to be positioned further back from the centre line of the lift. Often, a good rule of thumb is to start with the steering wheel lined up under the centre of the lift. When this is done, check the position of the four arms when they are extended to the recommended lifting points. The front lifting arm is manufactured on an angle and is considerably shorter than the rear arm, which will accommodate the asymmetric loading of your vehicle.
Yes . You just need to purchase the , std equalizer cables , Std length Safety cable, and the short version of the long hose.

We recommend frame cradle pads for added safety on all 2 post lifts
Frame cradle pads are recommended with 2 post lifts when working on any pickup truck or full frame vehicle. They act as a saddle for the frame rail and prevent the vehicle from sliding off the lift arms.
Symmetrical lifts have arms at the front and back that are the same length and design. Asymmetrical lifts have arms at the front and back that are different. This allows better access to the interior of the vehicle that is being worked on as well as better balance for different vehicles.
80-100 ft/lbs is sufficient and should be checked at regular service intervals.
Clear Floor models have the cables running over head giving a smooth floor under the lift making it easier to work under the car and roll tool boxes and transmission jacks under the car when working on it. Floor Plate models have the cables running under a cover on the floor giving more height for tall vans and the like. They both work well in different situations. Your sales professional can go over all of the details and find the perfect solution for your needs.
It's located inside the carriage about 18” down from the top of the carriage.
If you've got a heavy vehicle to lift, especially a truck, then you're going to want a set of cradle pads. Sturdy steel construction keeps the frame firmly between the cradle, while the treaded rubber mats protect the finish and reduce the chance of slippage.

Four-Post / Parking FAQ

Four post lifts are great for storage and for servicing automobiles, but they won't give you access to a vehicle's wheels unless you purchase an optional rolling jack, or the more affordable jack plate. This adds to the overall cost for the lift, but it will convert a four post lift to a full service lift.
Most 4-post lift are not designed for an outdoor use, we would highly suggest a 2-post or scissor lift with outdoor accessories.
Depending on your ceiling and garage door height, You may need to install a side-mount garage door opener, and have your garage door rails extended upwards to tuck close to the ceiling. Any garage door specialist can provide this service. Ask your sales representative for clarification on this.
The most popular accessories with a 4 post lift, are drip trays to prevent oil dripping down onto the vehicle below, caster kits to allow the lift to be moved around the garage, and extended aluminum ramps to help with clearance on lowered cars. A complete list of accessories is on our website and your Sales Professional can walk you through your options.

An Air Supply (3 to 25 cfm at 50 — 150 psi) is required to disengage the Safety Locks.
A busy shop might be served better with a Compressed Air Lock lift and a shop or garage that spends more time on each car may do well with a Manual Lock system lift. As with a lot of shop equipment, one style can serve better in one setting and another style can serve better in another setting. Your Sales Professional can discuss these features with you to decide which is right for you and your usage.
It all depends on how far from the car's wheels the low point of the car is, (for instance an air dam). The farther away the low point is, the more likely vehicle is to bottom out. Likewise, the closer to the wheels the low point is the less likely vehicle is to bottom out. Extra long approach ramps are available as extra cost options.

Alignment Lift FAQ

Omer Alignment lifts are a bespoke product intended to provide the most level surface to enable to most accurate alignment possible. They are designed and manufactured in Italy, and some competitors use the identical lift and re brand as their own at a higher cost. With our alignment packages, we also provide high end AC Hydraulics rolling jacks manufactured in Denmark, as well as stainless steel, air operated turn plates. This offers added longevity and ease of use as well as time savings, and we know time is money. See your alignment lift sales representative for more information and any competitive specs required.
Open front 4 post alignment lifts are desirable as it allows easy access to the underside of the front end of the vehicle to perform adjustments. Closed front 4 post lifts are less expensive and most common among the two. Scissor lifts take up much less room than a 4 post so for shops with less floor space, they are ideal.

Scissor / Pad FAQ

There are differences between the four models, but they all raise about three feet, plus a little extra height from the Lift Blocks. Your sales professional can go through all of the options and details.
It means the Platforms (specifically the Rubber Blocks on the Platforms) contact the frame of the Vehicle to raise it. Put another way, the Vehicle is not raised by its wheels.
MD-6XP and MR06 do not require anchoring.
Scissor lifts have the ability to lift the vehicle perfectly level, providing a more accurate alignment, they can also be flush mounted into the concrete floor. It is very difficult for the manufacturers to design a scissor system that works effectively and is much more complex than a 4 post. Different manufacturers, country of origin, build quality and other factors can determine price point as well.
